11 Meaningful Tips to Maintenance the Alternator

 An alternator is a generator that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy in the form of alternating current. For reasons of cost and simplicity, most motors use the rotating magnetic field of a stationary motor. Induction cooktops and rotating armatures with fixed magnetic fields are also sometimes used. In principle, any electric motor can be called an electric motor, but the term usually refers to a car or other small rotating machinery powered by an internal combustion engine.

Magnetic devices that use permanent magnets to generate a magnetic field are called magnetrons. Turbines in power plants powered by steam turbines are called turbo turbines.   • Maintenance of the alternator should pay attention to the problem

The charging (power supply) system consisting of the electric alternator is one of the two power supply groups in the car, and its maintenance usually requires the following points.

(1) In order to facilitate the heat dissipation of the generator, please always remove the dirt and dust on the surface of the generator, keep it clean, and do not block the ventilation passages.

(2) The tightness of the transmission belt should be properly adjusted. If the transmission belt is too loose, the transmission belt will slip, and it is easy to cause insufficient power generation. If the belt is too tight, the V-belt and motor bearings are easily damaged. Airtightness is adequate when you can manually push the belt 10 to 12mm from the center of the belt.

(3) When the motor is working, it is forbidden to conduct a grounding fire test to confirm whether it generates electricity. If this is not done, a momentary overload can damage the diode.

(4) The grounding polarity of the generator should be consistent with the grounding polarity of the battery. If not, it will burn out Ortega's rectifier diodes.

(5) The wiring connection between the generator and the regulator should be kept in close contact at all times. If rust is found, it should be cleaned with sandpaper in time, and the oxidation of the steel wire should also be cleaned in time.

(6) When the electric heater is working, please do not disassemble the connecting wire of the electrical appliance at will. Otherwise, a short circuit easily occurs, and the diode is easily damaged by man.

(7) Please adjust the regulator correctly, do not make the limit voltage of the voltage regulator too high or too low.

(8) When the alternator stops working, the ignition switch should be disconnected in time to prevent the battery from discharging through the excitation winding of the generator and the magnetizing coil of the regulator.

(9) When confirming the overall insulation of the electric heater or checking the diodes individually, it is absolutely forbidden to use the scraper and AC power supply exceeding 100v. If you don't, Ortega's rectifier diodes will fail.

(10) The fuel burner should be maintained and maintained after 750 hours of operation or 30,000 kilometers of vehicle travel. Mainly check the contact between the brush and the slip ring, clean the bearing, and replace the bearing grease. The newly added grease must account for 2/3 of the entire bearing. Do not add too much to avoid the slip ring overflowing or splashing and affecting the normal operation of the modulator.

(11) When it is determined that the generator does not generate electricity, the cause of the fault must be identified and eliminated within the specified time, which is not suitable for long-term operation. Because if a diode is short-circuited, the generator cannot generate electricity. If it continues to run, it will inevitably burn other intact diodes and the three-phase windings of the alternator. This needs to be given full attention.
